Organic Law 1/1995 establishes the Statute of Autonomy of Ceuta

The official gazette (BOE) publishes Organic Law 1/1995 of 13 March, the Statute of Autonomy of Ceuta, in issue 62 of 14 March 1995, in force from 15 March 1995. Article 1 of the consolidated text says that Ceuta, as an integral part of the Spanish Nation, accedes to self-government.

• The BOE reference is BOE-A-1995-6358. The issuing department listed is the Head of State.
• The BOE itself warns that the consolidated text is informative and has no legal value, and refers readers to the official gazette publication.
• Article 1 states that Ceuta «accedes to its regime of self-government and enjoys autonomy for the management of its interests». Article 2 defines the territory as «that comprised in the current delimitation of its municipal territory».
