The Tarajal case chronology published by CEAR states that on 6 February 2014 at least 14 people drowned while trying to swim across at Tarajal beach, and that 23 were returned to the Moroccan authorities from the same beach without access to a formal procedure. The same page later refers to 15 deaths. This archive does not hold an independent official count here.
- CEAR writes that about 200 people tried to enter Ceuta and that approximately 90 reached the border area of Tarajal beach and tried to cross by swimming.
- The entry for that day says: «At least 14 drowned and 23 were returned to the Moroccan authorities from the same beach and without access to any formal procedure.»
- CEAR further states that Civil Guard officers used riot-control equipment while those people were in the water. That statement remains attributed to CEAR; it is not repeated here as a fact established by an official decision.
- When recounting the appeal against the October 2015 dismissal, the same chronology refers to «the 15 deaths». Both figures appear on the page.
