On 2 November El Faro de Ceuta wrote that the Government of Ceuta is studying an early-warning system, using artificial intelligence, to detect migratory pressure at the border. Councillor Kissy Chandiramani announced it while presenting the draft 2027 budget. The piece says it is at the study stage. There is no timetable and no technical description. It is not a system in place.
- El Faro de Ceuta, 2 November: “The Government of Ceuta is working on the study of an early-warning system that would detect in advance possible situations of migratory pressure at the border.” Chandiramani announced it at the presentation of the draft 2027 budget. It is a study. It is not a system in operation.
- El Faro: the initiative “is still at the study stage” and “the Executive has not, for the moment, set out timetables or technical characteristics.” Chandiramani, according to the outlet: “The more protection measures we have, the better.” The outlet writes that she expressed confidence in the CNI, in Defence, in the National Police and in the Civil Guard. It is not a claim that those services do not give warning.
- El Faro places possible funding in the “Ceuta no se rinde” fund, which that piece puts at 4.3 million euros. The draft budget puts that fund at 4.30 million. It is the same fund in those two spellings. It is not the price of the system. The piece gives no cost, no contract and no trial under way.
