On 2 November El Faro de Ceuta wrote that minister Elma Saiz announced in Barcelona, at the World in Progress forum, that the Government is working to dismantle Ceuta’s temporary reception places “as soon as possible.” She gave no date. According to that piece, capacity went from 500 temporary reception places to more than 7,500. Saiz spoke of “about 13,000” people returned to Morocco. That figure is hers from that day. It is not merged with La Moncloa’s “more than 12,700” in the note of 20 October, nor with the 13,215 voluntary returns of 27 October. Places made available are not the people housed.
- El Faro de Ceuta, 2 November: Elma Saiz, minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, announced at the World in Progress (WIP) forum in Barcelona that the Government is working to take down the temporary reception places, “something they hope for as soon as possible.” That piece gives no date. On 3 November El Español reports the same announcement and writes that it came with no timetable.
- El Faro writes that Saiz claimed that, after the crisis, “it went from 500 temporary reception places to the more than 7,500 now.” El Español writes that capacity “went from 500 places to more than 7,500.” That is the places figure in those pieces. It is not the 7,477 places Europa Press wrote on 27 October. They are not merged. Places made available are not the people now housed. This card gives no occupancy figure.
- Saiz, according to El Faro: “There is a large figure of returns to Morocco of about 13,000 people. Those are files that no longer have to be completed because those returns have taken place.” El Español writes “around 13,000” according to the figures offered by Saiz. It is a figure attributed to her. It is not merged with La Moncloa’s “more than 12,700” in the note of 20 October, nor with the 13,215 voluntary returns that Europa Press attributed to Saiz on 27 October and that the Government of Ceuta later repeated. This archive does not reconcile them.
- El Español attributes to councillor Kissy Chandiramani that “as soon as possible” expresses an intention and that the City needs “a timetable for closure and for restoring the facilities.” It also quotes her: “Absolutely nothing has been conveyed to us.” That is the City’s position in that piece of 3 November. It is not a date from the Government.
