On 31 October El Faro de Ceuta and El Pueblo de Ceuta published a CSIF communiqué. EFE carried it on 1 November. The union speaks of an assault on several nurses at the University Hospital while they were working, of National Police intervention and of a complaint the nurses say they will file. That the event was caused by the withdrawal of the military patrols is what CSIF states, not an established fact. This review found no note from INGESA or the Delegation. The three pieces say “several” and place the assault during work.
- El Faro de Ceuta, 31 October, and El Pueblo de Ceuta, the same day, carry the CSIF communiqué: several nurses at the University Hospital were assaulted “while they were doing their care work”. EFE, 1 November, writes that CSIF “condemned today” that assault and questioned the withdrawal of the soldiers from the emergency-department door. “Several” is the figure in those three pieces.
- According to the communiqué they reproduce, the National Police intervened at the hospital to help the nurses, and they have told the union they will file a complaint. That is what CSIF reports. It is not a police report published here.
- CSIF calls the withdrawal of the military patrols from the perimeter a “hasty and irresponsible” decision and says the event confirms the warnings it made days earlier. El Pueblo summarises that the union blames that withdrawal. That is CSIF’s assessment, not an established cause.
- CSIF asks INGESA and the Government Delegation to restore the perimeter support. No communiqué from those two administrations about this assault was located.
