EFE wrote that the Civil Guard intercepted a half-sunk boat with four adults who had left Benítez

On 1 November EFE wrote that the Civil Guard intercepted in the early hours a half-sunk boat with four Moroccan adults. They had left a few moments earlier from the coast of Benítez to try to reach the mainland. Armed-institute sources cited by EFE tell it. The increase in boats that the piece mentions is an assessment without a figure. El Mundo published another piece on the interception the same day.

  • EFE, 1 November: the Civil Guard intercepted a half-sunk boat in the early hours. On board were “all of them Moroccans apparently of legal age, who had left a few moments earlier from the coast of Benítez.” The destination the piece attributes to them is the mainland. There were four. “Apparently of legal age” is not turned here into a verified age.
  • The piece attributes the account to sources of the armed institute. El Mundo published a piece on the interception the same day. The details of Benítez and of age stay in EFE’s text.
  • EFE: “Since the mass entry of migrants at the end of July, an increase has been noted in vessels of all kinds trying to approach the Ceuta coast.” That is an assessment. It carries no figure and it is not quantified here.
