Fact

On 9 September Marlaska spoke of 70,000 to 80,000 entries and of 1,600 police and civil guards

El Mundo reported that, in Congress on 9 September 2026, Fernando Grande-Marlaska called the irregular entry of between 70,000 and 80,000 people on 30 and 31 July of «extreme gravity», and said the deployment had reached 1,600 police and civil guards. That range is distinct from the 72,000 of 28 August and from CENIF's estimate of 75,000 to 85,000.

  • El Mundo attributes to him the range «between 70,000 and 80,000 people» and, in another passage, «more than 70,000».
  • El Mundo attributes to him that, after a first reinforcement and another 500 officers, the total reached «1,600 police and civil guards».
  • «Extreme gravity» is his description of what happened on 30 and 31 July and of the city's situation on that date.
