Fact

Spain’s National Intelligence Centre (CNI) alerted Spain and Morocco to calls to enter Ceuta the following day.

On 29 July, the CNI informed the Government Delegation in Ceuta and the Civil Guard that it had detected calls on social media to attempt to enter Ceuta by sea and via the fence on 30 July. That same day, it sent an early warning to the Moroccan intelligence services, the DGST and DGED.

  • The communication to the Government Delegation mentioned a call for July 30.
  • The CNI conveyed a similar alert to the Civil Guard's UCE-3.
  • The CNI sent a note to the Moroccan DGST and DGED.
  • The available documentation confirms that it was sent, but not, by itself, that it was received or that Moroccan services subsequently acted on it.
